Austrian Andritz AG to supply plant to first Cold Rolling and Galvanising Complex in the UAE 6. June 2006 , Abu Dhabi

Al Ghurair Iron & Steel held a ground breaking ceremony at its one million square feet plot in the Industrial City of Abu Dhabi (ICAD) at Musaffah

Al-Ghurair Iron & Steel (AGIS), part of Dubai-based Majid Saif al-Ghurair Group, is starting construction on the planned AED 300 million ($82 million) cold rolling mill and galvanising complex in Musaffah.
The facility will be built on a 100,000-square-metre site close to Emirates Iron & Steel complex. The manufacturing plant will occupy half of the site with the remaining space being used for roads and an office complex with adequate provisioning for future expansions.
The project will be the first of its type in the United Arab Emirates and is designed to produce 350,000 tonnes a year (t/y) of hot-rolled, pickled and oiled (HRPO) steel products. Of the total, 50,000 t/y will be saleable, cold-rolled, full-hard, 200,000 t/y will be galvanised material and the balance HRPO.
Andritz AG of Austria will supply regeneration plants for the recovery of waste pickling liquor from pickling plants.
