New Commercial Counsellor in Abu Dhabi 27. June 2006 , Abu Dhabi

Dr. Wolfgang Penzias to take over from Dr. Nikolaus Seiwald

July 2006 will mark the end of an era and hopefully the beginning of a new one for the Commercial Section of the Austrian Embassy in Abu Dhabi.
Dr. Nikolaus Seiwald, having been the Commercial Counsellor for 7 years, will leave the UAE and continue his excellent work for the Austrian export industry in the Czech Republic, where he will become the next Commercial Counsellor in the capital city of Prague.
His post in Abu Dhabi will be taken by Dr. Wolfgang Penzias, who is looking forward to working in this exciting country that has seen a very impressive increase in Austrian exports during Dr. Seiwald's tenure.
Austrian exports to the UAE more than doubled from 130,5 Mio. EUR in 1999 to over 271 Mio. EUR in 2005 with a significant further increase (+ 44%) in the first quarter of 2006.
