Austrian EET to build recycling facility in Sharjah 26. June 2006 , Sharjah

Turn-key project to achieve environmental friendly waste management

Emirates Environmental Technology Co.LLC. (EET), an Austrian-UAE joint venture based in Sharjah and part of the IuT Group (Austria, Czech Republic, Singapore) EET will design and build a 2,000 ton per day recycling facility for construction and demolition waste (CDW) as well as a 1,300 ton per day Material Recycling Facility (MRF) for municipal solid waste and the new sanitary landfill for the remaining residue.
Sharjah Municipality awarded this turn key project to the Austrian group that has also been engaged as general contractor in the landfill remediation project at the University City Road in Sharjah since 2004.
EET also received a contract to operate the existing landfill at the Dhaid road following a recent fire and will immediately change the operation structure to fulfill international standards for landfills and optimise the remaining volume until the construction of the new sanitary landfill can be completed. With these contracts, Sharjah Municipality has taken the important step to an environmental friendly waste management system and the cleaning of contaminated areas inside the city.
