Austrian engineering firm Geoconsult to oversee tunnel construction

Geoconsult with headquarters in Salzburg, Austria and their subsidiary in Singapore (Geoconsult Asia Singapore) received a consulting contract for the tunnel sections of the US $3.4 billion Dubai Metro mega-project.
In detail, the company’s subsidiary in Singapore is taking charge of overseeing tunnelling work on the project in Dubai that will change the way of living in and around Dubai.  
The project is scheduled for completion in 2009, but is likely to be expanded even further in the future. Totally there will be 69 kilometres of railway lines and more than 11 kilometres of them will be underground. Therefore Geoconsult's tunelling experience will play a vital role for the whole project.
