20. January 2009
Dubai has entered into a successful venture with the Austrian company Josef Manner AG based in Vienna, Austria. The venture is to produce high quality chocolate using locally produced camel milk.
The project was initiated three years ago under the vision of his Excellency Sheik Muhammad bin Raschid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai and prime minister of the UAE. At present the chocolate is produced in Austria to maintain the high quality and texture of the product. It will later be relocated to the UAE after some time. A new company called HM Chocolate was founded exclusively for this purpose. The new chocolate is called “Al Nassma” and is available in five different kinds.
HM Chocolate is a joint venture between Johann Hochleitner, a chocolate producer from Salzburg, and Josef Manner AG from Vienna. HM Chocolate has forecasted a sale of a 100 tones for the year 2009. At present the chocolate is only available in Dubai in selected retail outlets like in the Mall of Dubai (the world’s biggest shopping mall) or in the duty free area of Dubai airport. It’s also available in the first and business class of Emirates Airlines and in the Jumeirah hotels.
