Austria opens embassy in Kazakhstan 26 September 2007

Economic relations between Kazakhstan and Austria are at an all time high. Now political relations between the two states are to be consolidated - in December Austria is opening a new embassy in the Kazakh capital of Astana.

 

The Austrian trade volume with Kazakhstan is currently around a billion US dollars and bilateral economic relations are booming. In the first half year of 2007 alone, exports from Austria to Kazakhstan increased by 38.5%. The Austrian Federal Economic Chamber has had an Austrian Trade marketing office in the southern city of Almaty for a while now, in recognition of the importance of Kazakhstan to the Austrian export economy.
