SAG goes to Oman and plans to expand from there 9 October 2007

The Salzburger aluminium manufacturer SAG already has an export quota of 86%. With a new branch office in Oman, SAG should be even better placed to develop new markets in the Middle East and Asia.

Salzburger Aluminium AG (SAG) (site in German), an international supplier of Aluminum components and systems for the automotive, utility vehicle, aviation, motorcycle, and rail industries and Aluminum high-performance materials for the manufacturing industry is to open a new branch office (Joint Venture) in Oman. For this purpose a new company - SAG Sohar L.L.C. will be founded. This is a Joint Venture between SAG and Takamul Investments. The investment volume in the new foundry, which is to have an annual capacity of 30,000 tonnes, is around ten million euros. From the Oman base, markets in the Middle East and Asia should be developed. SAG has an export quota of 86%. In the Netherlands, Sweden, France, Slovakia, SAG has its own subsidiaries. 2007 SAG expect a turnover of EUR 365 million. The group employs a workforce of over 1000, almost 600 of whom are in Austria.
