Austria's foreign trade has achieved significant growth levels in the first seven months of this year. Total value of imports rose to EUR 63.92 billion, an increase of 7.9% on last year, whilst exports rocketed by 10.3% to EUR 64.88 billion. The foreign trade surplus for the first seven months is therefore almost one billion euros. Austrian goods generated a value of EUR 47.87bn from EU countries (+10.3%). Foreign trade with third countries saw a lower rise for imports (+6.6%) than for exports to third countries (+10.3%).
