Rosenbauer the Number 1 for specialist fire vehicles
When a fire breaks out anywhere in the world, there’s a good chance that the fire engine coming to put it out will be from Rosenbauer.
The Upper Austrian manufacturer of fire-fighting equipment, Rosenbauer International AG has long been the European market leader and has recently managed to take the number two place internationally. Last year 23% of revenue was generated in the NAFTA countries, the second largest market after Europe (44%), while Arabic countries accounted for 15%. In total, Rosenbauer delivered to around 100 countries.
A major challenge is the wide range of specifications for the vehicles in the individual countries. The first spark of international success was lit with the stock market flotation in 1994. 51% of shares are still held by the Rosenbauer family. In 2007 revenues totalled EUR 426 million; Rosenbauer employs a total of more than 1500 staff.
