50 years ago, it was a small family firm; today it is a global company with 10,800 staff. This is the success story of Vorarlberg company Alpla.

In Hard, Vorarlberg, in 1955 Alwin und Helmuth Lehner founded Alpenplastik Lehner Alwin OHG. One year later they produced their first plastic bottle. This was then followed by a triumphant journey across the globe. The first foreign subsidiary was founded in Germany (1964), while soon after that they crossed the Atlantic to Latin America (1968).

Today, Alpla is one of the world’s technological leaders in the field of plastics packaging.
At 128 sites in 37 countries, around 10,800 staff work to produce cutting-edge products of the highest quality. The client list includes international companies such as Unilever, Procter & Gamble, Coca Cola, Henkel, Colgate and L'Oréal. The Group’s annual revenues exceed EUR 2 billion.
