Getzner Werkstoffe: on to South America following success in Asia
Ever since 1969 renowned clients from the fields of railways, construction and industry have put their trust in the experience of Getzner Werkstoffe GmbH , a company which employs around 300 people and recently generated revenue of EUR 56m.
Getzner is a world leader in developing materials which reduce and isolate vibrations. Elastic elements are used, for example, to protect rail systems, buildings and machines from vibrations. The family-run company generates output of around 8,000 tonnes a year, with foreign sales accounting for 80% of production.
Now the high-tech manufacturer has its sights set on South America, Brazil in particular. Here the primary interest is in underground rail systems in the large cities and all heavy-duty rail tracks. The Middle East also looks highly promising: the company is hoping for orders in the infrastructure sector from major events such as the football World Cup in Qatar.
Getzner already operates very successfully in Asia: the business in China, where the company is heavily involved in the high-speed rail network, already accounts for 15% of total revenues. Overall one in four euros of revenue comes from Asia. There are also promising signs emerging from India where the company has been investing for the past 3 years.
