2013 Export Awards Series: TEST-FUCHS GmbH

18 August 2013

Since 1994 the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber and the Austrian Federal Ministry of Economy, Family and Youth have been presenting "Export Awards" to Austrian companies for their exceptional success on international markets. This year the prize in the Crafts and Trades category went to TEST-FUCHS GmbH.

The Austrian, family-run firm is one of the leading companies worldwide in the field of test equipment for aviation and space technology. TEST-FUCHS has developed and built test systems for over 100 different types of aircraft to date. These include the Airbus “A350 XWB”, which recently completed its maiden flight in France. The company’s clients include numerous major airlines in addition to the two largest civilian aircraft manufacturers.

Since the nineties TEST-FUCHS has also developed, produced and tested components for aircraft and space components for launch systems and satellites. The company has plans to increase its market presence with these flight components, such as fuel pumps for helicopters and small aircraft. These may currently only generate around 15% of revenue, but they are considered a growth driver.

Around 95% of production is exported, with the main markets being Germany, France, Great Britain and Spain. However, the Asian market is becoming ever more important for the company and a new subsidiary was recently established in Singapore. TEST-FUCHS employs over 350 staff worldwide and annual turnover amounts to EUR 38 million.
