Plastic innovations for beauty
Wampl was founded as a plastics manufacturer in 1951, the start of an impressive success story. Following the first products manufactured for the toy industry, the firm soon entered the world of cosmetics. Wampl also develops packaging solutions and technical products for clients from other industries. Furthermore, the Austrians have unique technical infrastructure for plastic injection moulding, both for industrial production and short production runs.
Today wamplPLASTIC produces more than 50 million plastic parts each year, most of which are for a specific segment of the cosmetic industry. Their nail polish colour cards and lipstick tester stands for display are in high demand with leading brands in the international cosmetic industry, thanks to their incredible colour accuracy. The company is even the global market leader in this segment with its colouring technology – made by wamplPLASTIC itself – as well as 20,000 individual colour shades and around 100 new developments per week. At least 50% of the colour cards and stands available worldwide are made by wamplPLASTIC; this figure rises to 60–70% for high-end brands.
The list of clients from the international cosmetic industry is also impressive. For instance, Chanel, Dior, Elizabeth Arden, Givenchy and L’Oréal are all produced by wamplPLASTIC. Products for the cosmetic industry account for around 65% of the company’s turnover, while the remainder involves the production of technical parts and packaging. The company has 25 employees and exports account for around 90%.
