Steep rise in trade between Austria and Iran

Austrian exports to Iran rose 51% during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 20-July 21), according to the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration. More than 57,000 tons of goods valued at $86.1 million, including pharmaceuticals, corn fodder, industrial machinery, paper and livestock, were exported to Iran.

In turn Iran’s exports to Austria increased 24% in value compared to the similar period last year and stand now at 928,000 tons of goods worth $3.8 million. Food supplements, carpet, molybdenum, raisin, dates, beans, vegetables and handicrafts were among the main exports.
