Nickel added to Albanian natural resources

A recent research of the British Company “European Nickel” concluded that Albania is not rich only in oil and chrome but in nickel as well. The nickel resources in the region of Devoll reach 36 million tons with a 1.2% of pure nickel. Albania has been aware of such natural resources since communism but has exploited only a small amount of it because great investments were needed. The National Agency of Natural Resources declares that nickel is mainly found in the regions of Devoll, Pogradec, Librazhd and Kukes.
