Prime Minister Rama summons National Economic Council

The Prime Minister described the tourism, economic and private-public partnerships development as highly important.

The National Economic Council met yesterday in the presence of Prime Minister Edi Rama. He described the tourism, economic and private-public partnerships development as highly important. According to Rama, the current government has realized 14 contracts based on the private-public partnership, which were well-studied beforehand in contrast with concessions inherited from the previous government which he claimed, were not supported by any studies.

He said that tourism was a real source of economic growth, adding that the government created all the necessary conditions for its development through a favoring platform which was reflected in a qualitative and quantitative growth during 2015.

Rama said that the revenues during the second trimester of 2015 were increased by €65mln, or two times more compared to 2014, because of the increasing strength of tourism. He also defended Minister of Health Ilir Beqja and the concessions for which he is being attacked by the opposition, and also criticized the media for acting like a parrot with regards to these accusations.
