The most important Austrian business event of 2018 for executives of Austrian subsidiaries in Australia

The 1st AUSTRIA CONNECT conference, an international forum designed to exchange expertise, ideas and experiences between Austrian subsidiaries in Australia and the Pacific Region, will be organized in Sydney by the Austrian Trade Commission.

According to the Australian Department for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Austrian investment in Australia totals a solid AUD 5,9 bn. About 140 Austrian subsidiaries operate in Australia and New Zealand, creating jobs and bringing state-of-the-art products and technology to the region.

And yet, common questions, challenges, interests and experiences remain:

How to operate in an Australian business context as a foreign owned company? How to best manage cooperation with HQs that are a 21 hours flight and a 10 hour time difference away? New Australian tax regulations, how do they affect my company? Visa, tax, and social security issues for Australians working in Austria, and vice versa? Standards, norms, public procurement and other legal issues? What are the latest developments with regard to the EU-Australia FTA and what can I get out of it? How to leverage the "Austrian-ness" of my brand?

And how about doing things together?

The two-day conference in Sydney, which will be designed around the input and interest of participants, is designed to be instructive, helpful and fun:

It will include briefings by renowned financial, legal, and economic experts, as well as a platform for both networking and in-depth discussions amongst CEOs and directors representing Austrian companies from a variety of industries. The Friday evening program as well as the optional weekend activities are open to spouses and partners.
