Austria’s solar industry is flourishing 11 April 2008

Domestic manufacturers of heat pumps, solar thermal systems and photovoltaic products enjoy high export quotas. Here, Southern and Eastern Europe count as the most important export markets.

 

Austria’s solar and heat pump industry has experienced solid growth in recent years – especially in exports. The export quota of heat pump production is 35%, and for solar thermal systems 78%. 95% of photovoltaic products are exported. After Germany, the important markets are Spain, Italy and the CEE countries. Austria itself has around 3.6 million square metres of solar facilities in operation.
