10 May 2010

On 6 May, the Austrian Consulate General/Commercial Section hosted a business reception and seminar, with speakers from TressCox Lawyers presenting keynote addresses on important changes to personal property securities law in Australia.

Against the spectacular backdrop of Sydney at sunset from their 20th floor chambers, Tresscox Lawyers Partner, Philip Mitchell, and Special Counsel, Silke Koernicke, advised an attentive audience on the implications and ramifications of the new uniform federal Personal Property Securities Act 2009 and the national online register, which have an expected operational commencement date of May 2011.

After learning about the importance of priorities, super-priorities and perfection, guests were given the opportunity to present their own questions and concerns, before all parties adjourned to the foyer for refreshments. The Austrian-inspired hors d'oeuvre from European Catering and Austrian beverages - Trummer beer, Almdudler herbal lemonade and wine - conspired to create a convivial mood as members and friends of the Austrian-Australian business circle took the opportunity to catch up or get to know each other for the first time.
