Strongbuild’s MacArthur Gardens Project Close to the Finish Line, Featuring Timber from BinderHolz

20 June 2017

The Macarthur Gardens in Campbelltown NSW is Australia’s largest cross laminated timber project comprising 110 apartments in three towers which are 6, 7 and 8 stories high and consist of approximately 2600m3 or 22,000m2 of CLT. The construction project is operated by Strongbuild who established an exclusive partnership agreement with the Austrian manufacturer Binderholz for the usage of 3000 tons of CLT.

Within a time period of only 6 months the CLT structure for the three towers was completed, which highlights the great advantage of CLT saving 4 months in construction time. This is also paired with significant cost-reductions of 3% compared to the traditional concrete alternative.

Strongbuild’s upcoming CLT projects include a luxury retirement village, at the western end of Sydney’s Norwest Business Park “Circa” and a residence comprising 134 units in Rouse Hill, NSW.
