Plasser Australia, part of the Plasser & Theurer group, was established and commenced manufacture of track maintenance and construction machinery in Australia in 1970. In 1980, the company moved to its present location at St Marys on 2.5 hectares of land, with rail siding access to the New South Wales standard gauge rail system.

The new production hall enables the company to further expand its activities, particularly in the areas of overhaul and repair.
