Travelling by train has many advantages, including a comfortable journey during which you can enjoy a coffee, read the newspaper or simply sit back and relax. Whether you're planning to travel by day or by night, the train offers the perfect route.

 

Did you know that you can take your car onto the train with you, saving yourself a motorway journey? 

ÖBB operates an onboard car service on the following routes:
Vienna - Berlin
Vienna - Hamburg
Vienna - Düsseldorf
Vienna - Salzburg, Villach, Innsbruck, Feldkirch
Graz - Feldkirch
Feldkirch - Villach 

On certain dates also Vienna - Lienz, Vienna - Schwarzach - St.Veit

Additional summer services for cars:

  • from Salzburg, Innsbruck and Villach to Germany,
  • from Vienna to Italy, Slovenia and Croatia.


Motorail Autoschleuse Tauernbahn

the motorail Autoschleuse Tauernbahn operates through the Tauern tunnel (Böckstein - Mallnitz-Obervellach, 12 km). Only for HGV without liquid gas. Timetable (in German)
