Die Organisation für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (OECD) hat ihre Wirtschaftswachstumsprognose für Österreich für heuer von 3,2% (Mai-Prognose) auf 3,3% nach oben revidiert.

In ihrem "World Economic Outlook" (nur in Englisch) rechnet die Pariser Organisation indes für 2008 mit einem etwas geringerem Anstieg des Bruttoinlandsproduktes (BIP) als bisher erwartet. In der Herbstprognose wird für 2008 ein BIP-Plus von 2,5% errechnet - in der Frühjahrsprognose waren es noch 2,6%. Für 2009 wird ebenfalls ein BIP-Anstieg von 2,5% erwartet. Damit steht Österreich im internationalen Vergleich immer noch sehr gut da.
