Central European Biomass Conference 2008 in Graz, Austria 14. November 2007

After the exceptionally successful debut of the first Central  European Biomass Conference in Graz in 2005, with around 1000 participants from 28 countries, the second congress of this kind will be held from 16th-19th January 2008.

A central theme of the event is the European Council's decision that renewable energy sources must account for 20% of Europe's energy mix by 2020. Additional targets include lowering greenhouse gas emissions by 20% and raising energy efficiency by 20%. The Central European Biomass Conference 2008 wants to play an active part in the design of this future requirement profile and aims to provide an up-to-date overview of the latest political, economic and technological developments in the field of bioenergy (heat, electricity and transportation fuels).  Alongside the political and technical presentations and the excursion programme, the conference will also hold a 'Matchmaking Event' consisting of  bilateral B2B meetings, in cooperation with AUSTRIAN TRADE.
