A central theme of the event is the European Council's decision that renewable energy sources must account for 20% of Europe's energy mix by 2020. Additional targets include lowering greenhouse gas emissions by 20% and raising energy efficiency by 20%. The Central European Biomass Conference 2008 wants to play an active part in the design of this future requirement profile and aims to provide an up-to-date overview of the latest political, economic and technological developments in the field of bioenergy (heat, electricity and transportation fuels). Alongside the political and technical presentations and the excursion programme, the conference will also hold a 'Matchmaking Event' consisting of bilateral B2B meetings, in cooperation with AUSTRIAN TRADE. You can find all the necessary details and an on-line registration form at www.matchmaking.at/biomass2008. Conference languages are German, English, Italian, Polish and Hungarian (simultaneous translation).
