have for many years been the domain of the  Swarco Group, headquartered in Wattens/Tyrol. Manfred Swarovski founded the company in 1969, producing reflex glass beads for road markings, which can be easily seen by motorists even in poor visibility conditions.

Over the course of the year, Swarco followed a steady expansion path in the business segment of traffic light technology. In this field Swarco is not only the market leader in Europe, but currently also the world champion. In Europe around 80% of all traffic lights come from the Group’s Burgenland production site. With a workforce of 1800, the Swarco Group generated revenues last year of EUR 219 million.
