In 5.5 hectares in Styria's Pöllautal, Obsthof Rettergrows a range of fruits on an organic basis, which are then turned into natural juices and exquisite spirits in the 120-year-old, family-run plant.
Retter is currently represented in all Austrian retail chains with its pomegranate juice and apple-elderberry juice. A total 3500 Austrian supermarkets stock Retter fruit juices. The spirit segment was the company's leading business for a long time, but juices have now outstripped brandies in revenue terms. Out of around 80,000 bottles of brandy, 50% are exported, mainly to Germany and the Benelux countries. Fruit juice exports are now being built up. Revenues last year amounted to EUR 2.5 million, this year Retter is aiming for EUR 3.5 million.
