Wolfgang Reithofer has worked for Austrian brick producer
Wienerberger
for 28 years. The company’s international expansion began during his time as C.E.O. of the long-established enterprise, whose history dates back 190 years. Heimo Scheuch has been named as Reithofer’s successor to take over the company reigns.
Wienerberger is now represented with production facilities in 26 countries, employs a workforce of around 14,000 and is not only the world’s largest brick producer, but also number two for clay roof tiles in Europe. Wienerberger was founded in Vienna in 1819. Revenues in the last fiscal year amounted to EUR 2.4 billion.
