Wiener Hofburg Kongresszentrum & Redoutensäle, part of the Hofburg Palace, has placed an order for Engelbrechts’ fully upholstered Chairik chair in black bison leather and frame in chrome steel. The Chairik chair is designed by Erik Magnussen – and in connection with the Hofburg order Mr. Magnussen has designed a new arm support in black lacquered high pressure moulded aluminium for the chair.
The order is to be delivered in the 4th quarter of 2007 and probably one of the first assignments of the chairs will be to comfort the thousands of guest at the galla banquet taking place in connection with the traditional New Year’s Imperial Ball at Hofburg on Dezember 31st 2007.
Except being the former Imperial Palace the Hofburg is also the headquarters of the Federal President of the Republic of Austria and has a great and exclusive conference area. Recently the conference area facilities have been renovated and at that occasion the well-known architect Bruno Sandbichler chose the Chairik chair.
Managing director Morten Engelbrecht from Engelbrechts A/S, Copenhagen is very pleased with the order. “For us it is an important recognition that the Chairik chair has been chosen for this project, and for the Danish furniture export in general it is great that we can manage in the constantly more demanding competition with the best international manufacturers. For many years the German speaking countries have been very important export markets for Engelbrechts and this order is yet another confirmation of our strategy to become an important player around there. Our aiming at the Austrian market and the great effort of our agent Ole Bjerregaard (Dansk Design, Wiener Neudorf) now bear fruit”.
