In June 2008, Carinthia will be the center of attention for the world’s football enthusiasts

In June 2008, Carinthia will be the center of attention for the world’s football enthusiasts when the third-largest sports event worldwide, the UEFA European Football Championship™, will take place in Austria and Switzerland.

One of the eight host cities, Carinthia’s capital Klagenfurt, is located near the "southern bend", the favourite spot for true football fans. On June 8, 12 and 16 the European football elite will get together in Klagenfurt. At the new Klagenfurt Wörthersee Stadium it will be decided which three teams of the European top teams will be admitted to the quarter finals of the UEFA EURO 2008™. Football fans will have the unique opportunity to combine a short trip to the most beautiful vacation region between the Alps and the Adriatic See with seeing their football stars at close range.
