The largest global expo in history offers massive business opportunities for Austria's export industry. The interactive world of adventure in the Austria Pavilion and numerous events are further proof of how inventive, innovative and refined "Made in Austria" can be.

May 1st marked the start of the world exposition in Shanghai, with over 70 million visitors expected to attend the EXPO by the 31st October. With a budget of over EUR 4 billion and 240 countries, cities and international organisations participating, it is expected to break all records and be the biggest EXPO ever. The EXPO’s motto of “Better City, Better Life” reflects the contemporary topic chosen by China.

Austria’s spectacular pavilion – financed by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Economics, Family and Youth and the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber – has the motto “Feel the harmony” and is considered a true trendsetter. Since the start of the EXPO an average 14,000 guests have visited the interactive adventure world every day and it is growing in popularity: recently 20,000 visitors came to the Austria pavilion. An array of sensory experiences awaits the guests. A trip round the 900m² multimedia exhibition space takes you through four interactive adventure zones (mountains, forest, water city), which combine reality and illusion and actively involve the guests in the experience. The highlights can also be seen online at www.expoaustria.at/virtuellerpavillon .

ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA is focusing on forward-looking industries at the world exposition, with over 100 events in sectors such as transport & mobility, environment & energy, lifestyle & modern living, health & medical technology, as well as new technologies & the creative industries, highlighting Austria’s economic achievements. The EXPO serves as a platform for presenting the top services of Austrian companies in China and East Asia.
