Technology from Austria for Vietnam’s fire brigade

9. November 2015

Austrian high-tech firm Frequentis has supplied a cutting-edge voice and data communication system for the fire brigade and emergency medical services centres in four Vietnamese cities.

As part of the project FDC Vietnam (Fire Brigades Dispatch Center), Frequentis has kitted out all of the fire brigade dispatch centres and fire stations in the cities of Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hai Phong and Binh Duong with the ICCS 3020 voice and data communication system. The project also includes a training centre in Hanoi as well as all of the mobile equipment. The new communication system has now been officially handed over.

The four dispatch centres with 21 fire stations and more than 60 fire engines cover an area of more than 13 million inhabitants. The new communication system will help to drastically reduce response times and optimise the deployment of fire fighters – for example by linking up various data such as the nearest fire hydrant.

The Fire Brigades Dispatch Center has an order value of EUR 8m, making it the largest fire-brigade project to date for the Austrian tech firm. Installation of the system has taken more than two years.

Frequentis AG, headquartered in Vienna, is a successful international company with subsidiaries and representatives in more than 50 countries. The high-tech manufacturer develops and produces communication solutions for sectors in which safety and security are paramount and is a global market leader in air traffic solutions. Exports account for around 95% of revenue.
