Austrian parcel station popular in Denmark

20. November 2017

The Danes are using the "Døgnposten" automatic parcel station to an increasing extent

During the last couple of years the Post Danmark Døgnposten based on Austrian KEBA ’s KePol parcel station has become increasingly popular in Denmark. The parcel station is a 24-7 service meant for those, who are never at home and clearly this service enjoys the acceptance of the Danes.

It all started in July 2008 when 10 KePol pilot systems were installed in Copenhagen. The parcel stations became an immediate success and Post Danmark ordered another 60 boxes from KEBA . They went into operation at the end of 2008. At the end of March 2009, the number of parcels handled by the 70 available Døgnposten totalled some 100,000. Since then, the documented monthly rise in this figure underlines the pleasing development of the system. Today the number of installed parcel stations amounts to 110 throughout the country and KEBA is busy installing even more parcel stations for Post Danmark.
