Iran: International conference in Vienna

11. June 2015

The chance to find out about economic opportunities in foreign trade with Iran.

The Iranian market holds major potential for European suppliers: a population of 77 million, a prosperous middle class in the cities, a preference for Western consumer goods and a massive need to catch up across all industry sectors and with regard to infrastructure. However, a sustainable recovery of the Iranian economy is closely tied to the emerging partial relaxation of sanctions against Iran.

You are invited to Vienna from 23 to 24 July for a two-day Iran conference dedicated to "EU-Iran – Post Sanctions Era" in the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber. The main organiser is the renowned Iranian think tank, the "Ravand Institute for Economic & International Studies"; ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA is the host and co-organiser.

This international conference will give an overview of new opportunities in foreign trade with Iran and will address the most important economic sectors with the greatest export potential, such as Automotive, Transport & Logistics, Mining, and Oil, Gas & Petrochemicals. Furthermore, visitors will have networking opportunities with numerous Austrian, Iranian and European top managers, opinion leaders and policy-makers (including the Minister of Industry and Trade, Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh).

The conference will explore questions related to how Iranian politicians and business experts view the market and where they see cooperation opportunities with European companies, how the sanctions are likely to change, where the greatest need for catch up and therefore the most promising business opportunities for European companies lie, and what the greatest risks are in doing with business with Iran.
