Kalundborg biomass refinery opted for Austrian technology

Production of 2nd generation bioethanol from waste products
The Austrian company Vogelbusch Biocommodities GmbH has provided Inbicons biomass refinery in Kalundborg with its energy efficient technology and process design. In November 2009 Inbicon A/S, a subsidiary of DONG Energy, opened its 2. generation bioethanol demonstration plant. The 17,000 liter per day demonstration plant served as a showcase project for second generation bioethanol production at the UN climate summit in Copenhagen in December 2009.
The technology provided by Vogelbusch complements parts of the ethanol fermentation as well as the distillation and dehydration and evaporation process during the biomass conversion process.
