Contract for Denmark’s first motorway PPP-project was signed.

On 17 February 2010 STRABAG and the public Danish road directory have signed a historical contract: for the first time ever a partnership consisting of a public and a private partner will carry out the construction of a motorway in Denmark. The 26 km long motorway in question will connect the cities Sonderborg and Kliplev in Southern Denmark. The consortium will be responsible for the construction and the operation for 26 years and will finance the construction period until the planned opening in 2012/2013. The public partner will afterwards have 26 years to pay installments. The total costs will be around € 148 Mio.

This agreement fits perfectly in STRABAG´s strategy to focus on selected major projects and to operate in new markets like Scandinavia.
