Engel Danmark part of an Austrian success story
Many well-known Danish high-tech companies rely on Engel technology – only a few end-customers even know about this. That’s globalization set to work. Among Engel’s most important customers in Denmark you will find Lego, Coloplast, Novo Nordisk, LK, Grundfos and Nordisk Wavin.
With the motto „ Engineering the future” ENGEL presented itself in October 2007 on the K-fair in Düsseldorf with great success. In total 17 machines were exhibited, hence three new product introductions. Much attention was given to the new fully-electric e-maxcompact machine, the EXJECTION®process as well as the new ENGEL speedwith 5.000 kN clamping force. The displays were clearly focalized on five target markets: the automobile industry, medical technology, the packaging industry, teletronics, and technical moulding. In addition numerous process and application technology innovations were presented.
Nine production plants in Europe, North America and Asia (China, Korea), subsidiaries in 27 countries and representatives in more than 70 countries make Engel Austria a global player belonging to the worlds leading plastics processing machine manufactures.
The 100% family-owned company was founded back in 1945 by Ludwig Engel and has developed immensely since then. The first Engel subsidiary was in fact established 1972 in Denmark. Engel Danmark is one of the milestones in the impressing Engel success story.
Engel Danmark is situated in Solrød Strand near Copenhagen and is responsible for the sales of Engel Machines in Denmark and Norway. In order to support all customers fast and efficiently Engel Danmark has a spare parts stock as well as a Training Centre for educating operators according to the international ENGEL training system. Most recently the Engel Group was awarded the International German Training Prize Gold Award for its training philosophy.
A few facts: Engel has an export rate of 93%, a turnover 2006/2007 for Engel Worldwide of 601 Mio. EURO and a 2006-sale of about 160 units, among these 120 injection moulding machines. Worldwide Engel has 3.633 employees, from among those 18 in Denmark and 2 in Norway.
