Safe, sustainable, socially responsible

Even beyond EU borders, Austria counts as one of the world's leading countries with regard to the energy systems of the future. The share of sustainable energy sources as a percentage of the total energy supply is 21% in Austria today.

Solar power and Biomass

Investments in R&D and high technical standards have enabled the export of products and services in the fields of solar power and biomass. An early market entry in the biomass heating branch has enabled Austria to become a world-wide technological leader in this area. Austria is also well placed in the biogas sector.

POWER PLANT CONSTRUCTION

When it comes to power plant projects, Austria's energy suppliers insist on sustainable and efficient technologies. And not only at home - in Turkey, for example, almost a third of all hydropower plants under construction involve Austrian companies.

Combined Heat and Power (CHP)

CHP plants provide the best exploitation of the energy source and is thermodynamically efficient. In this sector, Austria has an array of innovative products with high export potential.
