Austrian Managers Welcome the Eastward Enlargement of the EU

25. September 2006

According to a joint study by the management consultancy A. T. Kearney and the University of Economics in Vienna (Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien) most of the Austrian managers surveyed have a positive opinion of the EU's eastward enlargement. An entire 97% of the 120 top Austrian managers surveyed welcome the accession of the former Eastern bloc states to the Union. This has led to an increase in Austria's importance as a business location. However, as the portal wienweb.at reports, the majority of the managers fear a rise in unemployment in Austria.
In contrast to the managers, the Austrian public is still skeptical about the eastward enlargement of the EU.
