Trodat leaves its mark on the world of stamps 3. June 2008

The stamp manufacturer Trodat from Wels is the world market leader in self-inking stamps and a leading player in laser plotting technology (laser engraving machines).

In 1912 the company Trodat was founded by Franz Just in Vienna and has since become a global operator. The company's base moved in the fifties to Wels in Upper Austria. From originally being a small stamp manufacturer, it has evolved into an international Group.

The worldwide success began 30 years ago thanks to "Printy", a self-inking stamp with an integrated ink-pad, which has sold 200 million. The latest innovation from the House of Trodat makes stamping possible in different colours. Trodat supplies customers in 160 countries across the world; the important export markets being the USA, Germany and France among others. In China, the country of stamps par execellence, Trodat has recently entered the market through a subsidiary. The export quota stands at 98%.
