Roco Model Railways sizable exports 3. April 2009

For over 40 years Salzburg company Roco has been delighting railway enthusiasts, both young and old.

 

Roco produced their first locomotive in 1960. Today Roco is part of Modelleisenbahn GmbH , one of the largest manufacturers of model railways in the scales H0 and TT. Modelleisenbahn GmbH is among Europe’s top three producers of model railways and is the market leader in direct current systems. The Roco headquarters are based in Bergheim near Salzburg.

Roco’s scale models of railways from all over the world are produced by 560 staff at three sites - Goggnitz (Lower Austria), Banska Bystrica (Slovakia) and Arad (Romania). Over 80% of the products are exported. In the last fiscal year Roco saw revenues rise by 5.3% to EUR 36.5 million.
