Egyptian Austrian Business Council (EABC)

The Egyptian Austrian Business Council (EABC) was established in October 2006, and the agreement officially signed on November 14, 2006. The EABC consists of an Egyptian and an Austrian chapter. Its main goal is to promote trade between Egypt and Austria 

On October 9, 2006, the Egyptian Austrian Business Council was established by the Decree No. 743/2006 of the Minister of Trade and Industry of the Arab Republic of Egypt. The agreement was officially signed on November 14, 2006, by Dr. Richard Schenz, President of the Austrian chapter, and Mr. Emad Taymour, President of the Egyptian chapter, witnessed by HE Eng. Rachid Mohamed Rachid, Minister of Trade and Industry, by Dr. Kurt Spallinger, Ambassador of Austria, and by Dr. Mostafa El Feki, President of the Egyptian-Austrian Friendship Association. Its goals are:

  • Promotion of trade between Egypt and Austria
  • Development of industrial and technological collaboration between Egyptian and Austrian economic institutions and enterprises
  • Collection, analysis, evaluation, and diffusion of information relating to trade, industrial and technological cooperation, and investment to the mutual benefit of Egypt and Austria


The Egyptian Austrian Business Council consists of an Austrian and Egyptian chapter, each of them having its own economic institutions and its own budget. It was agreed to regularly organize business delegations and meetings in Austria and in Egypt.
A Business Mission to Vienna is planned from May 22 to 24, 2007 in order to open new markets for Egyptian exporters in the fields of fresh fruits and vegetables, textiles, marble and minerals. Anyone interested, please, contact:
