SunKid, a Tyrolean company, helps skiers worldwide to reach the peaks and is a world market leader with its wonder carpet, an alternative to ski lifts.

The company SunKid Skilift-Fördertechnik GmbH from Imst in Tyrol was founded in 1996 and ever since then has been committed to making it easier for beginner skiers to take their first - and therefore most difficult - steps. The revolutionary SunKid wonder carpet was developed following the motto “fun in the snow with safety and comfort”. Initially used for small children, it has now become a common climbing aid for skiers across the world. In Austria alone there are 250 ski resorts which boast 650 conveyor systems.

SunKid exports its innovative products to more than 40 countries and exports account for over 80%. With world market share of 70%, SunKid is the unrivalled international leader in this segment. To date over 2,200 wonder carpets measuring over 100,000m have been installed. Along with Austria, the largest markets include Switzerland, Italy, USA, Canada, Germany, France and Spain. SunKid has subsidiaries in the USA, Switzerland and France. The company also offers planning services for adventure parks. The group employs 80 staff and generates revenue of EUR 13 million.
