Advantage Austria and the Passivhaus Trust would like to invite you to participate on a trade mission to Austria to discover recent developments in Passivhaus and meet some of Austria’s most innovative players in the low energy building sector.

Austria is home to the highest density of Passivhaus buildings in Europe. An ongoing government supported research and development programme ensures that Austria remains at the forefront of new Passivhaus technology.

Who should attend?

The tour will be of particular interest to:
Architects, housing professionals, specialist advisors, designers and consultants interested in environmentally responsible design and construction of buildings, policy makers, local authority planners, housing and building departments and contractors interested in achieving the highest levels of energy performance.

Programme outline:

Wednesday 25 May
Arrival in Innsbruck – free time to network with other delegates over dinner / drinks

Thursday 26 May
Full day of site visits to residential and non-residential Passivhaus projects hosted by Advantage Austria and the Tyrolean Chamber of Commerce:

Project visit: completed timber Passivhaus residential complex (Perlachweg Sistrans) – this project also forms part of the International Passive House Conference Tour 1 on Sunday 29th May

Project visit: completed solid construction Passivhaus residential complex (Lodenareal, Innsbruck); the energy cost audit for the first year was made a few weeks ago – this project also forms part of the International Passive House Conference Tour 1 on Sunday 29th May

Project visit: Passivhaus Olympic VIllage for the Youth Olympics 2012 in Innsbruck – build in progress

Project visit: Renovation project in Innsbruck

Concluding with speed networking and an evening of traditional Austrian food, wine and beers

Delegates have the option of extending their stay and visiting the 15th International Passive House Conference which is being held in Innsbruck 27-29th May (Please note extended hotel stay is at the delegate’s own cost)

Visits to recent and current low energy and Passivhaus projects (transport by private coach) 2 nights’ hotel accommodation (B&B 25-27th May), incl. Meals on 26th May 1-2-1 Meeting and Networking event with Austrian solution providers on Thursday 26th May
