Bwin obtains e-money license in the UK 28. May 2008
The UK 's Financial Services Authority (FSA) has granted Austrian internet casino and gambling group, Bwin, an e-money license. The FSA regulates e-money institutions in similar ways to the banks.
From now on Bwin will be able to offer its customers new payment options such as MasterCard®
e-money prepaid cards.
Bwin is the only company in its industry to be listed as an e-money licensee by the FSA. Usually this privilege is only granted to banks and a small number of companies.
Bwin plans to make its financial services available throughout Europe.
