Austrian A-Tec Industries acquires British installation, erection and service company

Austrian Energy & Environment (AE&E), the plant construction division of A-Tec Industries, strenghtens its foothold on the growing UK waste-to-energy market  

Austrian Energy & Environment (AE&E) the plant construction division of Vienna listed A-Tec Industries has acquired Mechanical Installations International Limited (MII) a Newport based company with 110 employees and GBP 16 Mio in revenue in 2007. This takeover will enable AE&E to fully take advantage of the opportunities on the growing UK market for waste-to-energy facilities.

MII specialises in the installation, erection, maintenance and repair of machinery, plant, equipment, steelwork and associated services and gives AE&E a strong, well established partner for full-line supplies and local installation, plant erection, commissioning and maintenance. 

AE&E, headquartered in Vienna, is one of the leading suppliers of thermal generation and environmental systems. e.g. turnkey biomass plants, waste-to-energy facilities, boiler plants and gas purification services. The group employs over 4,700 people and has been active in the UK for many years. In 2000 it erected a 11.8 MW el biomass-fired power plant in Scotland. Swiss company Von Roll Inova , a world leader in waste-to-energy technology, is part of the AE&E group.
