New airline Air Sylhet has introduced two brand new services to Vienna from London Stansted and Manchester.

Air Sylhet, which is based in Birmingham and Vienna, has launched a new service from Stansted and Manchester to Dubai via the Austrian capital, Vienna.

The investors behind the new airline admit that its launch comes at a troubled time for the industry, with a number of cheap flights carriers struggling under the burden of high fuel costs.

They insist, however, that they can exploit a gap in the airline market by offering new services to destinations that are poorly served by its competitors.

Commenting on the launch, Air Sylhet's chairman Kabir Khan said that he recognised that launching a new airline in the current climate was "bucking the trend".

"The difference between our offering compared to others is that we provide a complete service to high and exacting standards, but we offer it at a rate which is value for money," he said.
