Umdasch crowned Shopfitter of the Year 2009

Austrian firm Umdasch Shop-Concept has beaten strong competition to win the Retail and Leisure International Award for Shopfitter of the Year 2009 at an award ceremony in London.

RLI (Retail & Leisure International) is one of the leading international specialist publications in the shop architecture and shop design sector. With its annual award ceremony the magazine aims to honour successful and creative developments in the retail world. The shopfitting award testifies to an added-value process oriented towards the customer’s requirements, a highly professional involvement in the design process and an innovative use of materials. The jury consisted of 14 prominent experts including Carmine Rotondaro, Worldwide Real Estate Director, Gucci Group; Chris Wormald, Partner & Joint Head of Franchising, Field Fisher Waterhouse UK; and Joseph Wan, CEO Harvey Nichols.

In line with the new structures of the commercial scene, Umdasch Shop-Concept has developed from being an ordinary shopfitter into an international brand shop factory. The spectrum of services ranges from concept development (strategy, design, planning) and – increasingly – project management, all the way through to project realization (fabrication and on-site assembly).

Roman Fussthaler, Managing Director of Umdasch in the UK and Ireland, was delighted to accept the “RLI Shopfitter of the Year Award” from publisher Jayne Rafter.
