SMB secures £5m plant assembly deal

4. August 2009

Austrian plant assembly firm SMB has won a £5m contract for the construction of an air separation plant in Manchester.

The Austrian plant construction firm SMB is enjoying unprecedented growth with contracts worth in excess of £21m on the order books. In spite of the current economic climate, and generally cautious levels of investment, the Austrian industrial plant assembly firm has managed to secure a series of lucrative contracts and is going from strength to strength.

SMB's portfolio ranges from tempering furnaces to refrigeration engineering. Most recently the company has secured a £5m contract to construct an air separation plant for the international industrial gases and engineering firm Linde in Scunthorpe. Construction on the project began in June this year and the plant is scheduled to be operational from June 2010.
