Nowhere is life better: according to the Mercer Study 2011, the Austrian capital Vienna is number 1 amongst the most liveable cities in the world - for the 3rd consecutive time!

It is no surprise that some of the brightest minds have lived and worked here – as they continue to do so today. In second place in the study by the international consulting firm  Mercer , which compares the quality of life in 221 cities, is Zurich - a position also held in 2009 and 2010. Next on the list and ranking 3-10 are Auckland, Munich, Duesseldorf in joint place with Vancouver, Frankfurt, Geneva, and Bern on par with Copenhagen..

Mercer compares various criteria in detail for its city comparison, including political, social, economic and ecological aspects such as security, health, education and transportation services.
