Raiffeisen connects its development prospects with Belarus – CEO Herbert Stepic

On the 26.01.2007 Alexander Lukashenko conferred an Order of Friendship on Mr. Herbert Stepic for fruitful cooperation in the financial and economic sphere.

According to Mr. Herbert Stepic, a decision of Raiffeisen Banking Group to invest in Priorbank in 2003 was a staretgically important decision on the regional scale. Today Raiffeisen Banking Group develops close cooperation with the banking system of Belarus, the banker said.

Raiffeisen Banking Group intends to expand its presence in Belarus. According to Mr. Herbert Stepic, Raiffeisen Banking Group closely cooperates with the Belarusian banks and is not going change this strategy in the future. The company plans to upgrade its network in Belarus by expanding and streamlining the list of banking services.

With offices in 16 countries, Raiffeisen Banking Group is the largest banking group in Central and Eastern Europe. Last year the bank was awarded the Bank of the Year Title in the region.
